World Languages in Alpine School District
Language education has changed in the last decade! Research has shown that the old days of conjugations, grammar focus and memorized dialogues is not as effective as an immersive experience taught with natural language production targets.
Language teachers in ASD work as Professional Learning Communities, collaborating on curriculum, best practices, and assessments to ensure student learning. These groups meet typically on Monday afternoons for an hour after school.
Language programs in Alpine School District are taught using a proficiency-based approach with language targets that match up with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. Find out what is taught and what students will be able to do with their new languages at each level.
